Lady Aurora dances all night.

On a cold and peaceful summer night, the beautiful lady Aurora came for an unexpected visit. She showed at my door, unannounced, as elegant and graceful as always.

She then graced us with a beautiful dance, and after watching her for what it felt an eternity, I decided to capture the wonderful and unexpected moment handheld with my trusty Lumix camera and keep it forever in my hearth.

A symphony of light

Searching for Lady Aurora, my friends Theresa, Kim and I visited Thornbury, Ontario, a beautiful settlement bathed by Lake Huron in Canada.

A once in a lifetime spectacle was about to be performed and we were blessed with nature’s colourful symphony of light, it was breathtaking. In the middle of the performance, we heard loud bass booms joining in, it was humans, joining with some light music of their own creation.

In harmony, nature and humans performed together a magical show and painted the dark sky with light strokes of many colours.

I captured the instant with my old faithful Lumix camera. This was a very difficult shot as I needed to account for the quick bursts of light created by humans and ensure I captured the beautiful soft pilars of light that that nature used to colour the canvas full of possibilities that is our night sky.

The messenger.

One evening a few days ago, I could hear the trees whispering a message of grief and despair. The wind sang an ominous song…

I looked at the window and saw the messenger of darkness looming over the sky, covered in a grey mantle. The messenger punctured the warm and peaceful arrange of orange light, breaking it in many shades of colour.

A wave of sadness pierced through my soul, I held my trusty @lumix camera and captured the moment I just witnessed.

Lady Aurora Visits Ontario

On Friday May 10, 2024 a KP 9 G5 geomagnetic storm reached Earth allowing Lady Aurora to visit us in all her majesty. My friends Theresa, Kim and I went to Thornbury and Blue Mountain to meet with Lady Aurora.

An instant that was engraved in our souls forever, captured with my trusty Lumix G95.

The king of the playground.

One cold night at the end of last summer Ofelia and I visited a beautiful playground located in the Shamadon Resort in Ayton Ontario.

On top of the playground lives a majestic old tiger, resting on top of a rock that oversees the playground. This cold night, he was quiet and sorrowful.

Bathing under the moonlight, we could see the tiger’s scars covering his body… they tell the story of many hardships. He still remembered when he was young and determined and could see how different things were now; ancient and exhausted, a relic of better times.

We could feel his lone despair cutting through the dark air, and tears flowed through our souls. Ofelia shared the pain on his soul. She climbed the mountain and slowly hugged him. I quietly sat next to her and looked and the stars…

The warm light gave our tiger some much needed hope… Maybe, there was still another chapter to be written on his story…

Ofelia and I thanked the stars and exchanged sad smiles… we were going to miss our beautiful friend. We climbed down the rock and decided to keep this memory forever.

I captured the instant with my trusty Lumix G95 camera... a moment that will last a lifetime…

A sorrowful goodbye that we hope will turn into a see you later. Ofelia and I looked at the stars and our tiger friend one more time… we waved and disappeared into the darkness…

The veil

One cold morning, I walked between light and shadows, engulfed in a sad veil of reflection.

As I approached the Pier, the veil that covered my eyes parted and I could see some souls that were lost in an instant, looking for respite.

I felt my soul connecting with all those souls and reflected about all the small moments of our daily lives, so many of them turned into nothing and disappearing without a trace.

My melancholic soul thought about this moment in particular, a memory that may provide curiosity decades into the future or just may fade away.

So many unresolved questions... Will people understand the feeling captured in this instant? Will our soul who by then will be lost in travels, remember? Will our collective memory fade away?

I looked down with teary eyes, somewhat confused and felt the need to use my trusty Lumix G95 and record this instant, hoping that those souls and my own can keep a memory that hopefully will live forever... only time will tell.

Luther Marsh, a breathtaking haven

Last week, my friends Simone, Theresa, and I (the wild adventurers) rushed in the middle of the night, braving harsh winds, cloudy skies, and cold temperatures.

We travelled north, met some cute deer, escaped from what looked like a voracious doggo and finally reached Luther Marsh, a breathtaking haven nested in Luther’s Lake in Southern Ontario, Canada.

After some time spent exploring the area, we stood in front on the marsh to admire the view while listening to a lonely duck sing a broken song. Lady Artemis herself, who accompanied us all night blessed us with a gift.

For a few seconds, the clouds parted the sky and allowed us to see a few stars twinkle. We admired the beauty of that moment while basking on her eternal hug of warmth and light…

With my old and trusty @lumix G95 camera I recorded that instant, a peaceful moment etched in our collective memories.

The beautiful Elora Gorge

Mystical and most likely haunted, the beautiful Elora Gorge is nested in Southern Ontario, Canada and guides the Grand River through a set of whimsical waterfalls.

My friend Simone and I answered the call of the river spirits and spent the night looking for that place where Polaris oversees the Gorge and dances with the Grand River.

We traveled through the depths of the Gorge in complete darkness, freezing temperatures, and under rocky and very complex terrain.

There was only a small window of opportunity to line up the shot. I tried to place the camera as close to the middle of the Gore as possible. It was extremely difficult because of the speed and depth of the Grand River rapids.

After many failed attempts, luck was on our side. There was a small ledge on the right side of the Grand River where the river slowed down a little bit thanks to a boulder that rested at the bottom of the Gorge.

With my tripod underwater and hoping that my camera wouldn’t be devoured by the River, I aimed at Polaris and spent what felt like an eternity setting the perfect shot. Time stood still and we basked on the warmth of the moon light.

My old faithful @lumix G95 camera helped me capture a magical moment that I will never forget. Breathtaking.

Cold, wet, and tired, we thanked the spirits of the Grand River for allowing us to share a mystical moment with them and slowly started to work our way back leaving behind a trace of our mortality in the dark depths of Elora’s Gorge.

In between light and darkness.

On a cold, cloudy morning, I went outside to admire the weird complexity of the ambiguous silver clouds that fully covered our big blue sky. In between the clouds, our lovely star was trying to reach us.

I could feel the desolation of the clouds and the warmth of the lovely rays of sunlight. My lonely soul softly caressed this tapestry of light and darkness and I tried to smile.

I stood there for a few minutes and decided to capture the special moment with my trusty @lumix G95 camera.

Time stood still for a second and an instant became eternal. Sorrow turned to reflection and my soul rejoiced…
